Christal Kahles

Yesterday Is Gone...
Tomorrow Is Forever!
Philippians 3:14

Christal is a gifted author who began writing at the age of 11, when “special needs” kept her somewhat isolated from the public.  She did, however, have a heart so filled with love that it often came spilling out in muse.  She has touched so many people along the way, and has no idea how her words have changed their lives!  Why? Because she continued to speak the words that came into her heart.

One day Christal realized that the Lord had given her a very special gift, and on that day she began to dream about being a published author.  As Christal's love for the Lord grew deeper, so did her faith, and she continued to believe that if God had given her this "special" talent and gift, HE would see her through to the completion of her dreams!

Christal had to live through alot of tough times, but she was right, the Lord kept seeing her through.  She kept believing, and she kept holding tight to her dream. She spent many hours reading and writing...taking notes and sitting at the computer. She began to write a novel, “In The Garden,” which she put a lot of her own characteristics into. And she continued to let the words flow from her heart to the paper when she was inspired. Thus came her love of poetry!

Fifteen years later, Christal is finally seeing her dream come true!  She believes it's a miracle, a gift from God, and proof that if you keep on believing and hold tight to your faith that the Lord will never let you down!  She knows this because most people had the attitude that people with Christal's type of "special needs" could never do something SO unlikely as write a book!

A special note about Christal:
Christal hopes to some day be an advocate and speak to the "powers that be" at the White House for others that have special needs.  She believes that alot of "us can't tell you where it hurts.  Well, I can!"  She wants to stand up and say, it doesn't matter what your illness is that may disable you...mental illness, diabetes, being paralyzed.  You can still achieve great things, and with the proper care, you can function in society and learn many things.  She wants Washington to know that Caregivers should have a program in place and be taken care of so they can continue to nurture the growth of the person with the illness.  This is her next dream!  To be that advocate!  Well...

Above is a picture of Christal's good friend Patrick Hughes.  He has so many challenges to face, but he never complains or looks at them.  He just keeps his faith strong and follows his dreams.  He marches in his high school band, has played the piano since he was 5-6, sings, and has touched so many!  The lady kneeling down next to him was another dear friend of Christal's,  Loretta Johnson (also pictured is Kay Johnson).  Just 4 hours prior to this event, Loretta had been at the hospital getting her chemo treatment for the cancer that she had been battling for the previous 6 years!  And then there's Christal with her name in a popular magazine, being announced as a published author that was just signed to an agency!

Never give up!  You have great things yet to give to the world!  And our wish for you is that all of your dreams come true!
